A Nura night?

From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The restaurant is spacious but organized in a way that makes you feel right at home.

We were seated at the bar, which offers access to the full menu, including a list of refreshing cocktails, wines, and beer. The waiters and barmen were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and drink list. They explained every dish with such passion that we felt like we were in for a foodie adventure, and trust us, we had a lot of questions.

The Nura adventure

We started our foodie adventure with their famous bread and dips, which included Black Bean Hummus, Curry Leaf-Cilantro Yogurt, and Beet Hummus.

The bread was homemade and fresh, with a selection of their version of Naan as well as a soft and somewhat sweet brioche. The dips were good, we couldn’t decide which one was our favorite, so we just kept dipping and trying new combinations.

Next, we tried the grilled lettuce with curry leaf, tahini, murmura, and queso fresco. The dish was light and flavorful, and the combination of mint and tahini made the plate light yet hearty at the same time. We couldn’t resist licking our plates clean.

Nura’s meals

For the main course, we ordered a variety of dishes, including some vegetarian options. The food was good, fresh, and tasty, but we were expecting something more extraordinary. We were probably too busy having fun and chatting to order the right dishes to showcase the restaurant’s true potential. Nevertheless, we were satisfied with our meal, and we couldn’t wait to see what dessert had in store for us.

Nura’s sweet tooth

We ended our foodie adventure with the chocolate cake with sunchoke ice cream.

Interesting right?

The ice cream was a new discovery for us, but let us tell you… it was a game-changer! It had a nutty flavor which gave a little extra “oumf” to the dessert. What does “oumf” mean? Let’s just say it spiced the flavor palette up, just to our liking. It made the “typical” chocolate cake dessert into something very special.

Nura’s final word

In conclusion, Nura is a foodie adventure waiting for you to jump on. The restaurant is fun and lively yet somehow cozy, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is fresh and flavorful.

Do we recommend?

We recommend sitting at the bar and trying every dish and dip that they have in store for you. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed. Our hot tip here is to book in advance (obviously – what NYC restaurant doesn’t have that tip) and normally the waiting time to be seated is quite long, so take that time to get one of their tasty cocktails.

We tried one of their signature cocktails called the Greenpoint. A mix of gin, maraschino, chartreuse, and lemon, which complemented our dinner in the best way possible. Nura is the perfect place for a fun and adventurous dinner with friends or a romantic date night. And please: make sure to try their sunchoke ice cream!
